What we work on
The place most middle school trouble starts, and the hardest to catch up on later.
Turning a paragraph into an equation - reading it, setting it up, checking the answer is sensible.
Variables, expressions, order of operations, solving for the unknown.
Linear equations, graphing, slope, systems of equations.
Area, perimeter, angles, and the reasoning that goes with them.
Working through what was set in class, and getting ready for the next assessment.
How it works
Send a message with their grade and what they are finding hard. I will reply with availability.
We work through current homework together. That usually shows where the gaps are faster than any assessment.
In person around Manalapan, or online over video. Weekly is typical, but it is up to you.
About David
I’m David. I’m entering my junior year at High Technology High School in Lincroft, and I have been tutoring middle school math since 2024.
Sessions are mostly homework and classwork - whatever was set that week. I adapt how I explain things to the student in front of me, which is usually the difference between a topic clicking and not.
Outside of tutoring I compete with my school’s Technology Student Association team, where we placed 3rd at the New Jersey state conference in System Control Technology.
